Moving from Religion to Relationship

God wants to interact with us: Spiritual Direction offers space to notice and step into this process. In the company of a director, you'll begin to explore your relationship with God. We take time to become aware of, talk about, meditate on, pray about, express, or simply be still with what is stirring within.

Spiritual Direction

Through a variety of means - prayer, silence, music, scripture, art, poetry, nature - we seek the hidden treasures of life lived with the Divine. We move beyond routines, rituals, and sometimes even beliefs, and pay attention to what we are experiencing and what is true.

Spiritual Direction is not

. . . advice-giving or counselling,

. . . theological debate or conversation,

. . . life coaching or business planning.

As your companion on the faith journey, your spiritual director:

. . . is the third in "where two or three gather in my name, there I am with them" along with the Holy Spirit and yourself (Matt. 18:20);

. . . listens without judgment;

. . . helps you to notice where the Divine Presence is already at work in your life;

. . . offers the encouragement of God's love and care;

. . . prays regularly for you.

Is Spiritual Direction for Me?

Spiritual Direction is for anyone who is interested in discovering how God is communicating with them and working in their lives in order to deepen their relationship with Him and others.

Moving beyond Spiritual Direction

Where formation coaching is needed, appropriate, and desired, we can discuss a combination of services that will meet your needs.

If the director feels that a treatment or service beyond their scope is required, you will be referred to the appropriate professional (counsellor, physician, etc.)
